COPE . . . Helping people in Elkhorn
Posted on Sep 16th, 2016

COPE’s office and store is located in the basement of Community of Grace church Elkhorn, and serves the areas that make up the DC West, Bennington, and Elkhorn school districts.  A great way to learn more about COPE and support the effort is to participate in the October 10 annual golf tournament at the Players Club; just register on their website www.COPEinfo.org .

COPE helps people with basic human needs: food, clothing, shelter.  COPE also helps prevent homelessness with emergency services like rent aid, utility assistance, and job skills.  COPE distributes backpacks full of school supplies to children in the fall, and Christmas gifts in the winter.  The Angel Donor Drive will begin in November and the annual Christmas Party in early December.  Volunteers and donations will be needed for both.

COPE works with the Food Bank for the Heartland and the Western Douglas County Food Pantry to distribute food to those in need.  COPE relies on donations from our neighbors, whether they are clothing, household goods, furniture,  or direct financial contributions to carry out a mission of helping those facing short term crisis.  Please, click on “How YOU can help” at www.COPEinfo.org  and become part of a solution in your community.
